She is a star on the rise and a businesswoman in the making.
Former Miss South Africa 2016 contestant Rambi Sechoaro is making her mark as a brand and refuses to ride on her older sisters’ [Bonang Matheba] fame: “I want to build my own brand and I never want to get jobs because of my half sister, I do however look up to her and respect her work ethic,” said Rambi.
Before entering Miss South Africa 2016, this 22 year old was already highly active doing charity work as well as getting local and international modeling engagements through her agency, Ice Models while juggling her Accounting Science studies at Unisa.
Rambi explains how she shares a passion for the entertainment industry just like her sister. “My sister gave me a few tips on having a thick skin in order to survive in the industry, and I have learnt a lot from her success,” she said.
Rambi says, although her and Bonang do not meet often due to hectic work schedules, when they do bump into each another, it is always pleasant.
As she gracefully shies away from her sister being the topic of discussion Rambi shares how she has received so much support from her mother and aunt and how she is planning to use her new found celebrity status to inspire people.
“The Miss SA platform and new-found celebrity status gave me a space to talk about the things that I am passionate about – modeling, children and being a businesswoman,” she added.
Congratulations! to actress Pearl Thusi and model Nicole Breyentenbach who have been cast in an international heist film called Blue Mauritius.
Pearl Thusi is set to play the part of Makeda, a sexy, gun toting, motorcycle riding femme fatale, who works for a German art dealer who is also out to steal the precious stamps, which collectively holds the secret to a treasure on Mauritius. The film will be produced by New York based D Street Pictures and Cape Town’s Kaapland Films (Klein Karoo, Mooirivier). Executive produced by Dexter Davis and the American actor, rapper and presenter Nick Cannon (Chi-Raq, America’s Got Talent).
Davis had this to say about the casting. “We’re thrill to have Pearl Thusi join our incredible cast of international movie stars. Ms. Thusi is in a league of her own and a force in the South African television and film industry. The producers and I agreed that no one was better suited to play Makeda, a character that was written specifically to show the strength of a beautiful, powerful and determined woman.”
The film will be shot primarily on location in Cape Town and will feature some of the hottest spots around the Mother City. Production begins in August, with additional cities such as London, Paris, Berlin and Tokyo thrown into the mix as they’re also part of the story where other Blue Mauritius stamps are housed, but the main and most important stamp is on exhibition in a highly secured museum in the city of Cape Town.
How did you get into the industry? I was 18 when I was scouted by an agent from IMG Paris (in Cape Town) and that’s when I started to take it seriously. Before that I always liked the idea but was still focused on finishing school. What were some of the highlights of your modelling career? My career was a journey, with many stops along the way. It is hard to single out one specific stop, since it is the journey that gave me the greatest gift. But if I have to choose one specific thing, I would have to say that it is the fact that you are your own boss! Secondly is the fact that I got to see the world! I absolutely love travelling. I must also add that it was really good monetary wise! What was life like in the fast lane married to an extremely wealthy man? Life was back then as life is today. It’s always had its ups and downs. The only difference is that the ups and downs might be higher and lower when exposed to anything in extreme. Like the old

Ceepho Likhanye Zele Gagayi: Beautiful picture of a real woman, not the ideal one
Tsepang Mvp Sololo Setipa: No editing and all that crap we see on social media with photo editing and stuff.
Tsebetso Sekhibane: My initial reaction upon seeing the discolouration was to wonder if they were bruises. The flowers in the bath reminded me of a Tyler Perry movie…..and her face looks a tad on the sad side. The blue water added to my thinking she’s feeling ‘blue’. The purple and white daisies…..colours that some associate with death. Kinda creepy. About her body – she’s a beautiful young woman. Fullstop!
